Welcome
I am a psychotherapist located in Worcester, Massachusetts with fifteen years of clinical experience providing mental health counseling and life coaching to adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I have a broad range of specialty areas including anxiety and depression, attention deficit disorder, divorce, relationship issues, stress management, women's health and wellness, workplace/career issues, and helping clients with Asperger's and other special needs make successful life transitions.
Personal Statement
My background is unique for a clinical social worker. I began my professional career as an attorney working in the public interest sector as a civil rights advocate for women, people of color, and the disabled.
After practicing law for 10 years, I was at home raising my children for a decade. During that time, I did a lot of volunteer work and discovered that my true passion lay in the field of clinical social work. And so, in midlife, I went back to school for a Master’s Degree in social work. For me, law and social work go hand in hand.
Both professions can help give a “voice” to individuals whose needs are not being met. As a therapist, I help my clients explore both what is going well in their lives as well as what changes they hope to make. We then collaborate on a goal, and work together to break this down into small, achievable steps. I am continually inspired by my clients' courage in facing life's challenges openly and realistically. It is an honor to work with them.

Special Needs Counseling and Consulting (brochure front) (brochure inside)
A particular interest of mine is working with clients who have special needs and their families. I have extensive clinical experience working with individuals with Asperger syndrome and other autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit disorder, and issues related to learning, medical, or physical disabilities.
Often someone is initially referred to me because s/he is experiencing difficulty adjusting to high school or in need of support in order to make a successful transition to college, work, or independent living.
I work with my clients to help them reach their personal goals such as:
- Better problem-solving skills
- More efficient organizational strategies
- Developing self-advocacy skills
- Improved social communication
- Independent living skills
As appropriate, I make referrals to and/or collaborate with physicians, neuropsychologists, school or vocational personnel, social communication groups, and public agencies to create a a team of professionals working together to help clients reach their full potential.
